I found out tonight that my transom shift cable is shot.  It takes close to 5lbs of force to move it, and the requirement is no more than 2.5 lbs, so I ordered a new one from an eBay merchant.  I drained the trim pump, put new o-rings on the fittings, blew the hoses out with compressed air, mounted the new pitot tube and vacuumed the bilge.  Boring stuff, but it's still a little progress!
